WCONLINE is a web application used by the College Writing Program to coordinate sign-ups for meetings between students and writing associates (WAs) and other individuals in CWP.
Students access WCOnline through the Lafayette Portal at my.lafayette.edu.
WC Online requires you to register your account the first time you use it. The process is very simple, and you only need to do it once.
- First, open your web browser and navigate to my.lafayette.edu. Enter your Lafayette network credentials. Note: You may see the familiar dual-authentication screen before proceeding to the portal.
- Once the portal is loaded, look for the block titled Taking Classes. Click “Get writing help.” Clicking the link will take you to WCOnline. The first time you visit WCOnline you will be taken to a screen titled “Register for a New Account.”
- Complete all the required fields marked with a red asterisk. If you are uncertain about your major, or if you have not yet declared a major, please enter your intended major, or simply type “undeclared” in that blank. For Student ID, please enter your L-number, beginning with the letter L followed by a zero (do not convert the L to a 9).
- We recommend that you not change any of the email preferences in the next box. The last step will be to complete a quick reCAPTCHA challenge to make sure you’re not a bot. Once you’ve completed the challenge, click SUBMIT REGISTRATION.
- That’s it! You should not need to go through this registration process again. If you have any difficulty accessing WCOnline, please contact the Lafayette Helpdesk at 610-330-4357 (HELP), or email help@lafayette.edu.
Once you’ve logged in, you can schedule a meeting by choosing a time slot for a particular day. You will be asked what you want to cover in the meeting, if you’re working on a particular assignment for a course, and you will have the opportunity to upload any drafts or outlines you want to share with your WA.
